Welding 101 is prepared to help fill the gap between the employment demands and the supply of qualified welders.
Mission Statement
Our mission at Welding 101 is to prepare individuals for a career opportunities and lifelong success in the field of welding by instilling competence and expertise in the student allowing them to compete in the world job market. We are committed to offering a high quality educational experience in a compassionate and respectful environment.
History
Rodney Patterson and Robert Roehl had many years of welding experience, training for themselves and many years of teaching experience. Both men saw the need for welders in the near future would be overwhelming for our country. Both had experience in teaching welding for other people but disagreed with their practices. Some wanted more time spent in books and less hands on in the lab. Some had the teacher pupil ration 30-1. Both men agreed that was not a good way to train skilled workers in the field of welding. Also they experienced for themselves having to attend schools that had a set time frame to graduate from their school even if you had the qualifications to finish early you could not and get credit. At Welding101 a person 16 or older can attend whether they have a high school diploma or not. They will be placed at their experience level and can leave when they have achieved their own goal set for them. If a person comes to us with years of experience in the fields of welding and just wants to take a certification test he can do so and by passing can be on his way to working as a skilled certified welder through the American Welding Society who are recognized around the world.
